This Privacy Policy is issued by Edutele Agency SMC Limited ("Edutele", "we", "us", "our"), the operator of the Edutele Access closed-loop access and verification service. Edutele is registered in Uganda.
Edutele Access is a closed-loop access and verification system. Access Cards and Access Bands issued by Edutele do not store monetary value. They verify a holder's entitlement to goods or services that have already been arranged with Edutele.
This policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and protect information when you:

These providers are bound by contractual obligations to handle your information only on our instructions and to protect it in line with this policy.
When you redeem an allocation at an Approved Edutele Service Access Point, the Access Point will see the information necessary to verify the redemption: for example, the card holder's name, photograph, remaining allocation, and the items being redeemed. Access Points do not receive your contact details or account credentials.

If Edutele is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you and ensure the recipient is bound by terms no less protective than this policy.
Edutele is based in Uganda, and most of our processing occurs in Uganda. Some of our service providers (for example, cloud hosting and email delivery) operate servers outside Uganda. Where this happens, we use contractual and technical safeguards to ensure your information remains protected.
We keep your information for as long as necessary to deliver the service and to comply with our legal obligations:

You can request deletion of your Edutele account at any time by emailing eduteleagency@gmail.com or by visiting an Approved Edutele Service Access Point. Upon verification, we will delete your account and associated personal information, except for records that we are required by law to retain (for example, redemption records kept for tax purposes), which we will continue to hold securely for the legally required period before deleting.
The Edutele Access service may be used by minors with the consent and involvement of a parent or guardian. For example, a parent may purchase a school-meal Access Card for a child. Where this is the case, the parent or guardian is responsible for setting up the account, agreeing to this policy on the child's behalf, and supervising the child's use of the Access Card.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without parental involvement. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without proper consent, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Our apps and website may contain links to third-party sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before sharing information with them.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will notify you in-app or by email before they take effect. Your continued use of the service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
